Google Maps is one of the most popular map applications of today, and it was announced last summer that Google Maps has started to show air quality data. Google continues to strengthen its Maps service with new features.
Sharing details about the new capabilities of the augmented reality feature called "Live View" in the last September, Google announced that the feature in question will be available for certain cities. According to the information conveyed by Google, the new capabilities of Live View will be available in London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, San Francisco and Tokyo.
Live View feature is available for both iOS and Android platforms. The Live View feature has a very simple usage, and it can be used with your smartphone's camera. All you have to do to use the live view feature is to open the camera in Maps by pressing the camera icon in Google Maps. When you turn your camera to the street or the avenue you are in, Google shows you points such as cafes, restaurants and ATMs in the area where the camera sees, thanks to the augmented reality technology.
Live View feature first appeared in 2019 as an augmented reality feature where navigation was offered to users via the camera. In beta, the Live View feature pointed users in the direction they needed to go with three-dimensional arrows. The Live View feature has become more capable with the ability to transfer the important points around you to the users via the camera. There is no information about when the feature will be available for other countries and cities.
